John (Jack) Powell
After Grant, Jack graduated from Western
Illinois University. In 1976, He backpacked by himself to Alaska.
Jack has a son and daughter and two grandchildren. Since retiring from
water well drilling, he has been volunteering locally with Northern Illinois
Food Bank, Feed My Starving Children, Habitat for Humanity, and CLC. Jack
has taken 7 mission trips to Panama to build a dam as you can see by the
picture.
He still lives in Lake County.
